Backup Policy

Objective:

This policy outlines the backup services provided by WafaTech to its end customers, ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards, specifically adhering to the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) rules and regulations.

Scope:

This policy applies to all data backup services provided to end customers who have requested backup services or have backup included in their service package.

Policy Details:

1. Backup Frequency and Type:

The general framework for our backup process is designed to ensure optimal data protection while allowing flexibility based on the specific services contracted by each customer. Below is an overview of our backup schedule: 

  • Daily Backups: Conducted daily, these backups capture changes incrementally after an initial full backup. A total of seven daily incremental backups are maintained.
  • Weekly Backups: Two incremental weekly backups are kept, each generated at the end of the week and following the initial full backup.
  • Monthly Backups: An incremental backup is saved at the end of each month, based on the data from the initial full backup.
  • Initial Full Backup: The first backup conducted upon activation of the service is a full backup, ensuring a complete copy of data at that time.

Note: The specifics of the backup frequency, including the types of backups performed (full or incremental), may vary based on the backup service or package you have selected. Customers are encouraged to consult their service agreement or contact customer support for details regarding their specific backup configurations and schedules.

2. Encryption and Security:

  • All backups are encrypted in compliance with the NCA rules and regulations to ensure data security and privacy.
  • Access to the backup data is strictly controlled and limited to authorized personnel.

3. Backup Storage Location:

 Backup copies are stored within the same datacenter where the customer's resources are currently running. WafaTech does not provide offsite backup storage for end customers.

4. Service Availability:

 Backup services are available only upon explicit request by the customer or as part of an inclusive package that contains backup solutions.

5. Limitation of Liability:

The backup service is not intended as a disaster recovery solution. Customers are responsible for implementing their own comprehensive disaster recovery plans to safeguard their operations in the event of a disaster.

6. Backup Retrieval:

 Requests for data retrieval from backups must be submitted through official channels specified in the service agreement. Responses to retrieval requests are governed by the terms stipulated in the customer’s service contract.

Policy Review and Update:

This Backup Policy is subject to reviews and updates as necessary to maintain compliance with evolving cybersecurity standards and technological advancements.

Please note that backup services are provided by WafaTech only if they are explicitly requested by the customer or included as a part of a selected service package. Customers are encouraged to verify their service agreement to understand whether backups are included in their chosen services. In the absence of a subscription to our backup services, the responsibility to maintain data integrity and execute regular backups rests solely with the customer. WafaTech shall not be held liable for any data loss or failure to backup data unless the backup service is specifically contracted as an additional service or included within the service package.
